The Miss Colleen Pageant
The Miss Colleen has been an important part of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival since its beginning in 1981.
The Colleen Selection selects a young lady of the community to represent the joy of our Irish heritage and spirit of community involvement. Throughout the years, the Colleen has also been a role model of young girls who look forward to the day they can represent the San Diego Irish Community.
The Miss Colleen represents the Irish Congress of Southern California (ICSC) at the Parade and Festival as well as at other ICSC and Irish community events. She also receives the opportunity to be reimbursed in an amount of up to $1,200 for an airline ticket to Ireland to allow her to experience and appreciate her Irish heritage.
